How It Works

How does SMART LINK work?

Smart Link consists of two, small control boards. One board is installed in the air handling unit, and the other is installed in the new high efficiency air conditioner or heat pump. With Smart Link's patent pending technology, the two control boards allow the units to operate using the existing two low voltage wires.

Two small control boards save the hassle!

Traditional cooling units use two low voltage wires and new high efficiency units use four to six wires. Connecting to them can require running wires, repairing walls and one big mess!

A job well done.

Installation is completed in minutes, saving both you and your client time, money, and repair.

Environmently Friendly.

Smart Link is proud to be lead free and ROHS compliant. What does that mean?

RoHS is often referred to as the "lead-free directive", but it restricts the use of the following ten substances:
Lead (Pb)
Mercury (Hg)
Cadmium (Cd)
Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+)
Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE)
Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP)
Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP)
Dibutyl phthalate (DBP)
Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP)

Superior Technology.

Utilizing the latest circuitry components, Smart Link is made to preform every time. Many HVAC control boards use traditional mechanical relays, Smart Link uses solid state relays (SSR) when transferring voltage to its terminals. Traditional mechanical relays have internal moving parts. Solid state relays have no internal moving parts.

Having no moving parts give you....
* Low power consumption
* Minimal input power required
* High resistance to shock and vibration
* No sparks or electric arcs
* Dramatically higher switching life cycle compared to traditional relays
